Rachel Flynn, Employment lawyer and Equine specialist at Keystone Law
I joined Keystone in 2015 with no real established client following, having spent the preceding year on the Board of a former client. I’ve spent my first year re-establishing connections and rebuilding a practice in my sector specialism, horse racing and equine, and legal discipline, employment law.
Starting from scratch has been daunting at times, but I have nothing but good things to say about my Keystone experience. Clients love the flexible, responsive service and the opportunity to access high quality experienced lawyers at a reasonable price; other lawyers respect the brand and, happily, one job has led to another for me. I have worked with some excellent colleagues and some fabulous clients Subsequently, I have found myself ranked once again in the Legal 500 and Chambers directories, in my specialist area.
Along the way, I am not sorry to have shed the office politics, HR issues, internal squabbles and utterly pointless meetings in rooms with no natural light that have peppered the last 20 years of my life! It is thoroughly rewarding to finally be responsible for my own destiny. And my time that has been freed has been well used. This year I rode in the 350th Newmarket Town Plate, raising over £9,000 for the Animal Health Trust, whom I have also been helping with governance issues as a trustee.
Frankly, it all feels a bit more worthwhile.
As a lawyer and entrepreneur, Keystone gives you all the tools and every opportunity you need to back yourself in a positive and ‘can-do’ environment. The model is well established and entirely transparent.
The opportunity to succeed truly is there if you're ready to take it. I could not be more pleased with the level of support I’ve had.
And of course the parties are legendary...
