Keystone Law is a multiple award-winning Top 50 UK law firm that continues to make waves in the legal sector. Our lawyers are ranked in Chambers & Partners and Legal 500 (for both for Licensing and Gambling). In November 2020 we were named Law Firm of the Year at the prestigious The Lawyer Awards, the ultimate accolade in the legal profession. In January 2021, Keystone was also crowned Happiest Law Firm of the Year by RollOnFriday. Keystone lawyers are known to be some of the most satisfied and driven individuals in the legal profession.

Due to an expansion of the team’s liquor licensing work in the North West, we are now looking to recruit a locally based Licensing Assistant, with knowledge of the NW region.

The hiring partners for this role are experienced partners looking for a Legal Assistant with licensing experience to work flexibly and preferably part time for three days a week (working entirely from home or part time from an office in Manchester city centre will be considered. Flexible working hours will also be considered).

The ideal candidate would be able to undertake the following duties:

  • Preparing and lodging licensing applications, such as new Premises Licences DPS variations, transfers, variations and TENS
  • Preparing site and newspaper notices
  • Keeping clients updated about the progress and outcome of their licence applications
  • Preparing applications for hearings by partners in the team
  • Opening new matters on the internal case management system
  • Billing clients

An interest in the leisure/licensed trade would be an advantage, as would some knowledge of licensed trade clients.  If you feel you have the skills and experience required and would enjoy working at an expanding and forward-thinking law firm, then please get in touch today.

Please email your CV and a covering note to and marking your email “Application for Assistant Role” in the subject line.  We will review your details and contact you with further information if we would like to take your application forward.
